I’m based in the eastern suburbs of adelaide, south australia, where I teach yoga & pilates and study a bachelor of health science (naturopathy), and raise kids with my husband travis, who runs grounded krav maga self defence school at hectorville community centre.
The methods of movement I teach are based on the principle that your mind and body aren’t separate from each other, and the way i teach these practices is designed to help you feel strong and open.
I’m qualified to teach mat pilates, reformer pilates, vinyasa yoga, prenatal/postnatal yoga & yin. classes often include breath work, meditation and myofascial release.
The physical body.
physical movement helps you feel good and when you feel good you want to move more.
at grounded, We work on the basis that your body’s strength and flexibility perpetuate each other, and your cells, systems, chemicals & mechanics move together in many different cycles.

Never heard of myofascial release? it’s a self massage technique, sometimes described as “trigger point” release, that breaks up adhesions in the fascia that holds and connects your muscles and organs. unsticking the tissues can help motor neurons and muscle talk to each other better so you can move how you want, when you want.

Philosophy.
some of the modern practices i study and teach are informed by the traditions of yoga, ayurveda & chinese medicine, grounded in understanding that the rhythm of human life reflects the cycles of nature.
this sense of connection is the basis for all grounded classes.
A prescription for the ‘tonic of wildness’ (Henry David Thoreau) is all that’s required to venture into the science or stories that help you make sense of the world.

We recognise our yoga practices come from the rich spiritual traditions and cultures of ancient south asian civilisations.
